The iPhone 3G was the first smartphone that I ever purchased, and I spent a long time after that in the Apple ecosystem. Note that this review was initially written based on version 5.5.3, the screenshots below will be slightly different from what you’ll see in the latest version.
APPS LIKE ANYTRANS UPDATE
Update Note: iMobie just released a newer version that includes two new features, iOS Mover - which allows you to quickly transfer content from an Android device to your iPhone or iPad, and Air Backup - which allows you to back up your iOS device wirelessly to prevent data loss. You can add new files to your device, but adding multiple files or folders at once is a slow process when compared to working with files already in your iTunes library. Instead, you’re restricted working with the files in your existing library, although you can still modify the library as normal with iTunes while AnyTrans is installed and running. The only issue I discovered that would prevent me from ignoring iTunes entirely and relying on AnyTrans was that it cannot add files into your iTunes library.
It’s not exactly an iTunes replacement, but it will handle the majority of the daily file management tasks that iTunes does.
APPS LIKE ANYTRANS OFFLINE
It can even integrate with your iCloud account to manage your online storage, and download videos from the web for offline use on your device. It can copy any type of media from your computer to your iOS device or from your device to your computer, as well as create and manage your device backups. AnyTrans is a file manager for iOS devices that is vastly superior to iTunes in almost every way.
